Özet

Metastatic malignancies are more common in noncirrhotic livers than primary liver tumors. In some cases, they present as tumors of unknown primary origin, and systemic screening along with immunohistochemical studies is required to determine the tumor origin. The most common metastatic tumors in the liver are breast carcinoma, stomach gastric adenocarcinoma and rectum rectal adenocarcinoma. Before performing immunohistochemical examination, tumors are defined by their morphological features such as size, number, location, and invasion pattern. We can list metastatic tumor growth patterns as Metastatic tumor growth patterns include macrometastasis, micrometastasis, intrasinusoidal spread, intraductal spread, and intraportal metastasis. Morphological findings can provide information about tumor origin, and immunohistochemical studies are helpful in this regard. In the gallbladder and pancreas, primary tumors of these organs are most frequently observed. Metastatic tumors are quite very rare. The most common metastases to the gallbladder are stomach, breast, colon carcinomas, melanoma and renal cell carcinomas. When autopsy studies are examined, it has been seen that lung, gastrointestinal tract, kidney, breast, liver, ovary and bladder carcinomas metastasize to the pancreas. However, most of these patients are advanced stage patients. In resection materials performed for pancreatic tumors, lymphoma and stomach and kidney carcinomas are more frequently seen.
