Şüphesiz masallar çocukların yetişmesi için belli başlı araçlardan biridir. Bu istikamette yeni yetişen kuşağa verilen eğitim, cinsiyet eşitliği konusunda hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu makalede, örnek olarak Kül Kedisi Sindirella, Pamuk Prenses ve Yedi Cüceler, Kurbağa Prens, Kırmızı Başlıklı Kız masalları ve Kurtlarla Koşan Kadınlar adlı eserden Mavi Sakal masalı ele alınmıştır. Belirtilen masalların seçilme nedeni herkes tarafından bilinmesi ve popüler masal olmasıdır. Bu masallar çerçevesinde “kadınlara atfedilen güzellik yargısı, kadınların itaatkâr olma durumu ve işgücünden mahrum edilmesi ve son olarak da kadınların bağımsızlık konusu” ideolojileri incelenmekte ve sosyal hizmet açısından değerlendirilmektedir. Derleme şeklinde yapılan bu çalışmanın masallarda yer eden toplumsal cinsiyet rollerindeki kalıplaşmış yargılardan ve ataerkil toplumdaki etkilerinden söz edilmesi ve bunun sosyal hizmet kuramları içerisinde işlendikten sonra okuyucuya sunulması açısından önemlidir.

Undoubtedly, tales are one of the main instruments for the upbringing of children. In this direction, education given to the new generation is of vital importance for gender equality. In this article, the tales such as Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Frog Prince, Red Riding Hood and Bluebeard from Women Who Run with the Wolves are dealt with as examples. The reason for choosing these tales is that they are known to everyone and popular. Within the framework of these tales, the ideologies of “the beauty judgment attributed to women, the state of women’s submissiveness and their deprivation from labour force, and finally the issue of women's independence” are examined and evaluated in terms of social work. This review article is very significant in terms of addressing the stereotyped judgments in the gender roles in the tales and their effects in a patriarchal society as well as in terms of presenting it to the reader after being processed in social work theories.
