Özet

From TV programs and advertisements to newspaper news and stories, magazine content, posters

and billboards, radio bulletins and information obtained through the internet, visual, audio and multimedia

messages affect individuals both socially and psychologically in many ways. In this context, the media should

draw its strength from individuals who are free, creative, rational, scientific and critical thinkers. Media literacy,

on the other hand, enables individuals to raise their awareness of the media by providing them with a critical

perspective on the correct evaluation of the media and against the bad effects of the media. As a matter of fact,

with the rapid change and development in technology, individuals' access to new information and messages has

become easier and gained great momentum, and it has become a necessity for individuals to have the skills to

access consistent and accurate information. Because technology, which is developing day by day, takes more

place in people's lives and causes the amount of information produced to increase. Therefore, it is very

important that the technological tools and materials used in media literacy and education are appropriately

selected and used correctly in order to raise awareness of individuals against the negative effects of the media at

a very early stage and to guide them to develop a critical perspective towards media messages. Accordingly, in

this study, which was shaped and conducted with the survey model in line with the qualitative research method,

the findings obtained by reviewing the literature on the subject were classified and evaluated in the form of sub-

themes. In the related study supported by “İnonu University Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit”

within the scope of the project coded SBA-2024-3677, remarkable findings were reached.
