Özet

Fences are typical structures that are used to enclose an area and provide the safety of persons, property, or other landscapes or for decorative purposes. There is no doubt that the fences being visible in the dark will make their usage purposes more effective. Generally, an external light source is required for this. But, if it is coated with a luminescent chemical substance that glows spontaneously in the dark, the safety effect will increase without the need for any external lighting source. When applied a luminescence material to a surface, the properties of the coating directly affect the radiation. Because the light absorption and emission of the luminescent material are primarily dependent on the light transmittance of the coating material. For this reason, in this study, fences materials such as metal, wood, and glass with different usage purposes were coated with phosphorescence materials by the sol-gel method. Refractive index, chemical, and physical characterization, and glow times of the phosphorescence hybrid materials were determined.
