In this study, a series of benzimidazole-based 2-selenone complexes was synthesized and comprehensively characterized to evaluate their structural and physicochemical properties. The target compounds were obtained through the oxidation of benzimidazole-derived selenides under controlled conditions, followed by the coordination of selenium-containing units to suitable metal centres. The structures of the newly synthesized complexes were confirmed by NMR (1H, 13C) and HR-MS analysis. These findings highlight the potential applicability of benzimidazole-2-selenone complexes in catalysis, organoselenium chemistry, and materials-oriented research.
