This study was conducted to determine the experiences of students using educational materials in pediatric clinics This study was conducted between November and December 2021 with 24 students who were in their third year at a university and who were attending pediatric nursing practice by using phenomenological design. The data were collected with audio recording by using focus group interview technique. The data obtained from the study were evaluated by using qualitative content analysis method and the themes of the study were created. Nursing students reported that they made a lot of research to prepare educational materials, the education they gave with educational materials attracted students’ attention and it was effective, the feeling of mutual trust developed through better communication with children and families and their self-confidence increased. Themes of the study were determined as communication, effective education and being/making happy. The education given by nursing students using educational materials increased communication and cooperation with the sick child and the family and ensured the effectiveness of the education.
Bu çalışma pediatri kliniklerinde eğitim materyali kullanan öğrencilerin deneyimlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu araştırma fenomenolojik desende bir üniversitenin hemşirelik 3. sınıfında çocuk sağlığı ve hastalıkları hemşireliği uygulaması yapan 24 öğrenci ile Kasım-Aralık 2021 tarihleri arasında yapılmıştır. Veriler odak grup görüşme tekniği ile ses kaydı yapılarak toplanmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler nitel içerik analizi yöntemi ile değerlendirilerek çalışmanın temaları oluşturulmuştur. Hemşirelik öğrencileri eğitim materyaller hazırlamak için çok fazla araştırma yaptıklarını, eğitim materyalleri ile verdikleri eğitimin dikkat çektiğini ve etkili olduğunu, çocuk ve ailesi ile daha iyi iletişim kurarak karşılıklı güven duygusunun geliştiği ve özgüvenlerinin arttığını bildirmişlerdir. Araştırmanın temaları; iletişim, etkin eğitim ve mutlu olma/etme olarak belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelik öğrencileri eğitim materyali kullanarak eğitim vermeleri hasta çocuk ve ailesi ile iletişim ve işbirliğini arttırmış, eğitimin etkin olmasını sağlamıştır.
