Makale, "Incel" kavramının gelişimi ve Türkiye'deki görünürlüğü üzerine bir inceleme sunmaktadır. Incel, başlangıçta yalnızlık ve sosyal dışlanma hissiyle başa çıkmak amacıyla çevrim içi bir topluluk olarak ortaya çıkmış, ancak zamanla toksik erkeklik anlayışını yansıtan, kadınları hedef alan bir ideolojiye dönüşmüştür. Incel toplulukları, internetin etkisiyle hızla yayılarak, kadınları aşağılayan ve erkeklik krizini besleyen bir alt kültür oluşturmuştur. Dünyada olduğu gibi, Türkiye'de de Incel hareketlerinin etkisi hızla artmaktadır. Bu kavram özellikle Semih Çelik’in yapmış olduğu cinayetlerle birlikte duyulmaya başlanmıştır. Türkiye'de, gelişen dijital kültür ve toplumsal değişimler, Incel kavramının yayılmasını kolaylaştırmış, sosyal medya ve dijital platformlarda bu topluluklar daha görünür hale gelmiştir. Incel kavramının ilişkilendirildiği Anomi kuramı, toplumsal normlardan kopuşu ve toplumsal uyumsuzluğu açıklamak için önemli bir araçtır. Incel toplulukları, geleneksel erkeklik normlarının dışına çıkan, aynı zamanda toplumun mevcut normlarına karşı tepki gösteren bireylerden oluşmaktadır. Incel hareketi dijital kültür ve toplumsal değişimlerin birleşiminden doğmuş bir oluşumdur ve bu kavramın anlaşılması, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizlikleriyle mücadele ve dijital platformlarda toksik alt kültürlerin yayılmasını engellemek için önemlidir. Makale, Türkiye'deki Incel hareketinin etkilerinin daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi noktasında araştırmaların toplumsal cinsiyet ve dijital kültür perspektifinden derinleştirilmesi gerektiğini vurgulamaktır. Çalışmada, Semih Çelik Cinayetlerinin medyada görünürlüğü içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmektedir. Böylelikle Incel kavramının Türkiye’de görünürlüğüne dair önemli bulgulara erişilmesi öngörülmektedir. Bu bağlamda makalede elde edilen bulgularla doğrultusunda, Incel hareketinin, bireylerin yaşadıkları dışlanmışlık, yalnızlık gibi duygular ile zaman içerisinde kadın karşıtı bir ideolojik yapı olarak şekillendiği görülmektedir. Semih Çelik Cinayetleri; toksik erkeklik durumunun, dijital medya ortamında eril söylemler ve toksik erkeklik biçimlerinin kişiler üzerinde şiddet davranışlarını oluşturmaya nasıl zemin hazırlayacağını göstermektedir.
The article presents an analysis of the development of the concept of ‘incel’ and its visibility in Turkey. Incel initially emerged as an online community to cope with the feeling of loneliness and social exclusion, but over time it turned into an ideology that reflects toxic masculinity and targets women. Incel communities spread rapidly with the influence of the internet, creating a subculture that humiliates women and feeds the crisis of masculinity. As in the world, the influence of incel movements is rapidly increasing in Turkey as well. This concept has started to be heard especially with the murders committed by Semih Çelik. In Turkey, developing digital culture and social changes have facilitated the spread of the incel concept, and these communities have become more visible on social media and digital platforms. Anomie theory, with which the Incel concept is associated, is an important tool to explain the break from social norms and social disharmony. incel communities consist of individuals who go beyond the norms of traditional masculinity and at the same time react against the existing norms of society. The incel movement is born out of the combination of digital culture and social changes, and understanding this concept is important for combating gender inequalities and preventing the spread of toxic subcultures on digital platforms. The article emphasises the need to deepen research from the perspective of gender and digital culture in order to better understand the effects of the Incel movement in Turkey. In the study, the visibility of the Semih Çelik Murders in the media is analysed through content analysis. In this way, it is foreseen that important findings on the visibility of the Incel concept in Turkey will be reached. In this context, in line with the findings obtained in the article, it is seen that the Incel movement has been shaped as an anti-woman ideological structure over time with the feelings of exclusion and loneliness experienced by individuals. The Semih Çelik Murders show how toxic masculinity, masculine discourses and forms of toxic masculinity in the digital media environment can pave the way for violent behaviours on individuals.
