Palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions for C–C bond formation such as the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction have been known as versatile and efficient processes [1]. The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction has applied as a very useful procedure for the synthesis of various biaryls, while also forming an important class of compounds for pharmaceutical, material and agricultural chemistry [2]. N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands have attracted attention in organic and organometallic chemistry fields for many years [3]. Recently, bis-(NHC)Pd(II) complexes have been reported to be active catalysts in Suzuki-Miyaura reactions [4].
