Özet

In this article, some inferences, evaluations and classifications are discussed about Turkish sociology which dates back to 100 years. General characteristics and trends of sociology in Turkey, together with the orientations and research fields of the sociologists are tried to be determined. Along with the 100-year Turkish sociology history, the paradigms, approaches and ecoles that are transferred and adopted from the west are discussed and the main factor, continuity and the disengagements are stated. Also in this article, attention is drawn to the sociologists who produce theories about the difference of the eastern and Turkish societies from the western ones. Some sociologists from the Turkish sociology history who are distinguished by their opinions and theories are also examined shortly within the framework of this article.
