The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of inflation accounting, which is applied in Turkey under the IAS 29 - Financial Reporting in Hyperinflationary Economies standard, on financial performance indicators using a case study. In this context, conceptual and application-oriented academic studies on inflation accounting were examined within the scope of the literature review The case study method was used to evaluate the effect of inflation accounting on financial performance indicators. The selected key financial performance indicators were profitability, liquidity, indebtedness, and operating efficiency ratios. These ratios were calculated and interpreted before and after the application of inflation accounting in the case study. The effect of inflation accounting was concretized. The case analysis revealed that inflation accounting significantly altered financial statements and, consequently, financial performance indicators, clearly demonstrating that historical cost-based data can be misleading in inflationary environments. Despite the complexities of the implementation process, financial information adjusted for the distorting effects of inflation provides a much more reliable and meaningful basis for managers, investors, and other stakeholders. This study has concretized the transformative effect of inflation accounting on financial analysis and interpretation.
