Abstract

Among N-heterocyclic compounds (NHCs), imidazoles and benzimidazoles are very important compounds with their interesting framework. Their transition metal complexes have also attracted attention in recent years. The Ag(I)NHC complexes of these complexes are used as a transfer agent [1] during the synthesis of other metal-NHC complexes as well as medical applications such as anti-inflammatory [2] antibacterial [3], anticancer [4], and antitumor activity [5].

Herein, novel silver-based NHC complexes bearing 2-chloro-4-fluorobenzyl group were synthesized. The successful formation of all Ag(I)NHC complexes was proved by using 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, FTIR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis techniques.
