Abstract

The design and properties of three different amperometric HPLC detectors with mercury working electrodes is described. Two detectors use a hanging mercury drop electrode and one detector uses a bubble electrode. The time constants and response volumes of these detectors were determined and were found to be superior to all previously described mercury detectors. The detection limits were calculated for dinitro-o-cresol.
