PC-95 Long term potentiation, Investigation of the Effect of Exercise on Meteorin-Like and Myonectin Levels in an Experimental Hypertension Model Ayşegül Dolanbay, Nurettin Aydoğdu Inonu University, Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Malatya, Türkiye AIM: The cause of hypertension is unknown in 95% of cases. Regular exercise has beneficial effects on hypertension. However, this mechanisms aren’t understood. Myokines released during exercise may play an important role. It has been reported that Myonectin and Meteorin-like are released due to exercise. In our thesis, we aimed to investigate the role of Meteorin-like and Myonectin in the pathophysiology of hypertension, its relationship with kidney functions, and the effect of exercise on Meteorin like and Myonectin levels. METHODS: In our study, male Sprague Dawley rats were divided equally into 3 groups (n = 24; Control, Hypertension, Hipertension+Exercise). Rats in the Hypertension and Hipertension+Exercise were given L-NAME by adding it to their drinking water (6 weeks). Systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressure values were measured every week. in the Hipertension+Exercise were subjected to running exercise on the treadmill 20 m/min, 45 minutes for the last 4 weeks. After collecting the 24-hour urine of the rats; Euthanasia was performed under anesthesia by removing blood, muscle and kidneys. Data were analyzed with Student's t-test and Mann-Whitney U (p<0.05). RESULTS: It was determined that systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressures increased and renal nitric oxide, muscle Myonectin and Meteorin-like concentrations decreased in the Hypertension compared to the C (p<0.05). It was found that diastolic blood pressure values and malondialdehyde and serum glucose levels decreased in the Hypertension+Exercise group in the 4th and 6th weeks compared to the hypertension group (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The decrease in this myokines muscle concentration indicates that they may have a role in the pathophysiology of hypertension. We think that the duration/type/starting time of exercise and dose of L-NAME should be reviewed. It should be investigated thoroughly for future research.
