Özet

The physical structure and the identity of the city are formed over a long period of time. The best examples reflecting the spatial and structural characters are, without doubt, the historical city centers. Today, these historical areas, which are under rapid construction and population pressure, are becoming less perceptible and their relationship with the whole city is gradually decreasing. This research aims to reveal the value of accessibility by examining the change in Trabzon Kaleici and its immediate surroundings in the process since its establishment. In this respect, the present maps containing different periods of the city were used as a base, and maps showing integration levels and topological accessibility were created. By comparing these maps, the change in the accessibility level of the historical city center over time was revealed. At the end of the study, it was determined that the relation of the historical city center to the whole city decreased and the street network formed over the years negatively affected the access to the historical city center.
