Bu çalışmanın amacı, vergi denetim per- sonelinin mesleki şüphecilik düzeyleri ile yaş, cinsiyet gibi demografik özelliklerin arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Çalışma kapsamında anket, Türkiye geneli (Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, Bursa, Antalya, Adana, Gaziantep, Konya illerin- de bulunup civar illere turnelere giderek Türkiye geneli vergi denetim faaliyetlerini yürüten) vergi denetim personeline uygulanmıştır. Yapılan ana- lizler neticesinde örneklemde yer alan vergi de- netim personelinin mesleki şüphecilik açısından; sorgulayıcı zihne, kişilerarası anlayışa, özgüvene, karar verme yeteneğine sahip oldukları ve yargıyı askıya aldıkları tespit edilmiştir. Analiz sonucuna göre katılımcıların yaşları ile mesleki şüphecilik ölçeğinden alınan puanlar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Fark-lılığın ise 31-40 yaş aralığında olanların mesleki şüphecilikten aldıkları puanların 50 yaş ve üzeri yaş grubunda olanlara göre daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the level of professional skepticism of tax audit personnel and demographic characteristics such as age and gender. Within the scope of the study, the questionnaire was applied to tax audit personnel throughout Turkey (who are located in Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, Bursa, Antalya, Antalya, Adana, Gaziantep, Konya provinces and carry out tax audit activities throughout Turkey by going on tours to neighboring provinces). As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the tax audit personnel in the sample had an inquiring mind, interpersonal understanding, self-confidence, decision-making ability and suspended judgment in terms of professional skepticism. According to the results of the analysis, a statistically significant difference was found between the ages of the participants and the scores obtained from the professional skepticism scale. The difference was determined that the scores of those in the 31-40 age range were higher than those in the 50 and over age group.
