according to marital status. For this purpose, the data received from the graduate thesis on empathy made in Turkey were used. The studies were included in the survey in 2005 - between 2016 consists of graduate thesis on empathy in Turkey. HÖK National Thesis Center was used to search the thesis. In this study, data analysis was performed with the Comprehensive Meta Analysis (CMA) package program. The effect size was assessed with "Cohen d". Twenty-eight studies were included in the study. Twenty-eight theses were conducted on a total of 7581 (3095 unmarried, 4486
married) persons. A statistically significant difference was found in 7 of the 28 theses, while it was not found in 21 of the theses. In order to investigate whether there is publication bias, four different methods have been applied; Orwin Secure
N Number test, Duval-Tweedie's crop fill method, Egger test and funnel scatter graph. At the end of the analyzes, it was determined that there was no publication bias. Results of the combination process within the Constant Effects Model demonstrated that empathic tendency level did not statistically significantly differentiated based on marital status. The results of the subsequent Q and I2 tests conducted demonstrated a high level of heterogeneity among the studies and as a result, the model for the combination process was changed to the random effects model. Results of the combination process within the Random Effects Model also demonstrated that empathic tendency level did not statistically significantly differentiated based on marital status. Thus, it was determined that empathic tendency level did not statistically significantly differentiate based on marital status.
Key Words: Empathy, marital status, empathic tendencies, meta-analysis.
