The N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) ligands have attracted a lot of interest in the field of organic chemistry because of its synthetic variability, the ability to adjustable the steric and electronic properties [1,2]. These ligands are known as unique ligands for the synthesis of industrial catalysts. On the other hand, in recent years, numerous studies have been carried out on the biological applications of NHC ligands and their metal complexes [3,4].
In this work, we synthesized of the novel Phenylsulfonyl-substituted benzimidazolium salts 1a-f. Also, all of the compounds have been characterized by using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FTIR spectroscopy and elemental analysis techniques.
