Field-dependent young's modulus and magnetoimpedance in electrodeposited NiFe and NiFeCo microtubes

Abstract

In this work, magnetic, structural and magnetoimpedance and Delta E, variation of Young's modulus as a function of applied field, properties of Ni79.1Fe20.9/Cu, Co18.21Ni41.20Fe40.59/Cu and Co18.97Ni49.60Fe31.43/Cu are reported. The maximum change in Young's modulus is found to be about 0.6% for Ni79.1Fe20.9/Cu, 1.8% A/m for Co18.21Ni41.20Fe40.59/Cu and 2% for Co18.97Ni49.60Fe31.43/Cu. Magnetization loop, magnetoimpedance (MI) and Delta E effect results indicated that samples have a circumferential easy axis. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
