Abstract

In this study, microstructure, mechanical, and conductivity characteristics of Hardox 400 steel were changed
with different welding metot and effect of such characteristics on its machinability with Wire Electrical
Discharge Machining (WEDM). The purpose at this stage is to examine the surface roughness (Ra) values at
the Heat affected zone (HAZ) and Welding Metal (WM) zones with respect to varying micro structure, micro
hardness and conductivity values. The lowest Ra value measured in the HAZ and WM region was measured
at the sample-2 from MAG. The purpose of this work is to examine the quality of the hardox steel that is
produced when the need for machining at the WEDM arises.
