Özet

Palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions for CC bond formation such as the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction have been known as versatile and efficient processes [1]. The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction has applied as a very useful procedure for the synthesis of various biaryls, while also forming an important class of compounds for pharmaceutical, material and agricultural chemistry [2]. N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands have attracted attention in organic and organometallic chemistry fields for many years [3]. Recently, bis-(NHC)Pd(II) complexes have been reported to be active catalysts in Suzuki-Miyaura reactions [4].

In this study, I have researched the synthesis of the naphthyl substituted imidazolinium salt and its bis-NHCPd(II) complex. I characterized the structure of compounds by using spectroscopic techniques such as NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis, and element analysis. The catalytic activity of these compounds has been investigated for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction and exhibited excellent activity in this reaction.
