Özet

The organometallic compounds are known to be used as drugs in the treatment of many diseases, particularly cancer. Metal N-heterocyclic carbene (M-NHC) complexes are one of the most important classes of these organometallic compounds. Recently, the publication of the studies on the catalytic activities of M-NHC complexes has been proceeding [1,2]. Pd(II)NHC complexes which one of the most important compounds of M-NHC complexes, have recently attracted considerable attention [3]. Pd-PEPPSI complexes have attracted attention with their wide application field in recent years. Generally, the catalytic activities in C-C bond formation reactions of these compounds have been investigated [4].

In this work, a series of the palladium(II) complexes (1a-e) bearing NHC functionalized by p-fluoro was synthesized. These complexes were synthesized from p-fluoro-substituted benzimidazolium salts and pyridine. The new complexes were fully characterized by using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FTIR spectroscopy and elemental analysis techniques. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction was used to determine the structure of a derivative.
